COMMENTS:
This is one of the first video albums. They did a video for every song. They use to show these videos on MTV every day in 1982 because there were not very many videos back then. Hard to believe. "Tainted Love" is a disturbing video. Soft Cell was a great electronic band. I forgot how some some songs like "Seedy Films" were brilliant
This is just great.
Since the 1983 issue of the 'Non Stop Exotic Video Show' on VHS which became a collectors item, we weren't able to obtain those videos, and now, here they are !
Lead singer Marc Almond (along with Dave Ball) is showing his theatrical skills while presenting the videos in a non stop show of men, women, animals and dwarves ? Really some bizarre person !
And what do we have here ?
So, we have entertain me, bedsitter, frustration, torch, seedy films, secret life, youth, tainted love, memorabilia, sex dwarf, what, say hello wave goodbye.
I really love this one ! This one is my favorite
NOTE: Their first album, Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret, further explored the trademark Soft Cell themes of squalour and sleaze. "Seedy Films" talks of long nights in porno cinemas, while "Frustration" and "Secret Life" deal with the boredom and hypocrisy associated with suburban life. A companion video titled Non-Stop Exotic Video Show was released alongside the album and featured videos directed by Tim Pope, who later became famous as director of music videos by The Cure. The video generated some controversy in Britain, mainly due to the scandal involved with the "Sex Dwarf" promotional film. The original version of the music video featured Almond and Ball in a bloody butcher shop surrounded by chainsaws, nude actors, and dwarves. However, the film was confiscated by police and censored before it was even released. As a tongue-in-cheek substitute, a re-filmed "Sex Dwarf" appeared in Non-Stop Exotic Video Show featuring Almond dressed in a tuxedo, directing a symphony orchestra of dwarfs. There is a copy of the original "Sex Dwarf" that can be found on Tim Pope's website (except its not there)
